Most models have a battery protection
circuit, when the battery temperature is too high or when the discharge current
is too large, probably because it beyond the battery protection circuit
standard that occur the problem of power failure automatically.
The most common situation is that the use
of laptop battery when running at full speed causing excessive current
automatic protection. For example, remove the content from the DVD in CD-ROM
into the hard disk, then the host and peripherals are consuming a lot of power,
it is possible that the current exceed the battery standard of protection, in
which case do not panic, as long as disconnect peripherals to wait for about 10
minutes and then re-boot.
Another common situation is the laptop in a
hot environment, high-load operation using the battery, so that the ambient
temperature plus the heat generated by the battery self-discharge battery
protection circuit may exceed the preset temperature, this situation may occur especially
in high frequency P4 machine after high speed operation at high temperatures.
Encountered such a situation you should remove the battery and place it in a
cooler place (remember not placed in the refrigerator to frozen!), after half
an hour it would be back to normal. For high temperature can damage lithium battery
a lot, less than not you should avoid use the laptop in a hot environment and
work high load.
In order to maintain the BIOS state, there
are many laptop battery with calibration option, in simple terms, this
functionality would charge laptop battery fully and then discharged completely ,
then recharge, so not completely discharged for long-term, cumulative errors
caused some corrective action. However, please note that the BIOS correction
takes a long time, you’d best do that before go to bed.
Many models also have discharge functions
in Windows. This can save time, you can do that while working. Battery
calibration should not be too frequent, frequent deep discharge will shorten
battery life, we recommend two to three months once.
If all the ways do not work, you need a new
laptop battery.
