Reduce power consumption and increase battery life

The computer consumes a lot power, but we can use some simple energy-saving methods to save energy costs as well as protect the environment. If you are using a laptop, these methods can also effectively improve battery endurance.
Conventional measures

1. Pending the computer when not in use. This can significantly reduce the use of electricity and the computer can be quickly waked.
2. Turn off the computer if you do not use it long term. Some people worry that regularly shut down the computer may result in faster loss, this understanding is not correct.

3. Turn off the external devices (printers, scanners, etc.) when you not use.
4. Reduce the brightness of the screen; laptop screen account for the main consumption of laptop. Most laptop keyboards have a button that can adjust the brightness.

5. If you do not need internet connection for short time, turn off the wireless / Bluetooth devices. These devices consume a lot of electricity. Some computers have equipped with a physical switch of wireless adapter and Bluetooth devices, and some computers have a keyboard shortcut alternative physical switch. You can select it depend on your needs.

More advanced measures

Reduce the tasks that running in the background, the more tasks that performed, the more power the computer needs. Most program that consume less power when in the minimize state, but the applications, music and movie player, distributed computing software that often need to fetch data from the network may affect the power consumption.
