Extend the life of your battery

The operating time of your battery is influenced by many factors. Here are some tips to maximize the life of your notebook:
* Use QuickSet power schemes to adjust your energy consumption.
Disable with QuickSet presentation mode.
Turn off wireless mode with the Fn + F2 or with QuickSet.
Reduce the screen brightness using the Fn + arrow up / down.
Remove unnecessary accessories such as PC cards and USB devices.
Run demanding applications (eg games, DVD playback and data analysis) when the laptop is connected to an AC outlet.

Dell QuickSetTM is available for most Dell notebooks since 2002 software interface that allows easy control of key features. QuickSet easier to adjust settings for travel or presentations, and energy management interface allows fast access to standard and custom power schemes.
With the energy management assistant, a customer can define the settings for standby or sleep mode and set power schemes with which the screen or the hard disk off, set the screen brightness and wireless activity can be determined. These schemes can be configured for operation with and without battery.
